 Ahmed Baba Institute-Timbuktu

Thousands of manuscripts covering human rights, legislations, music and astronomy are some of the records of the people of Timbuktu stored in primitive formats and difficult to make available to an international audience.

As from next year, it will be very easy to consult some of these documents online as the Ahmed Baba Institute in Timbuktu, plans to make their collections available online, after many years of scanning and storage in a database with the assistance of the government of south africa.
