French high speed trains

The high speed trains have changed the face of regional transportation in Europe. As les trains à grande vitesse reduced the amount of time need to travel from one city to the other. For instance, it takes only two hours from Paris to Strasbourg and fours hours to Frankfurt, instead of 6 hours.

The TGV command unit at Pagny sur Mosselle is a computer department with numerous workstations and an electronic board that depicts the movement of trains along the network in real time. Its from here that officials communicate with each high speed train driver and the technology powering the IT infrastructure of the TGV control department is the European Traffic Management System. ERTMS is the standardized cross-border rail network signalling system and at the tgv command office there is nine rows of IT servers.
